Other Projects
I don’t just paint on canvas. As a lover of anything creative I’ve been known to turn my hand to other projects including this wall mural to commemorate the 50th Anniversary of Priorsford Primary School in Peebles. The brief - to involve all 460 pupils in the finished product! The finished design featured awards the school had earned over the years and the values of caring, sharing and kindness. The trees represent the school’s vision of ‘supporting each other to grow and learn together’. The togetherness reflected in the leaves of the tree which were signed in gold by every pupil and teacher in the school. The colours were kept to the blue and red of the school logo to ensure the finished design was coherent and not too busy. It was great fun to do!
My children also benefit from my artistic exploits. Here is a wall mural which I painted for my youngest son. Safe to say he loves it, although it doesn’t help much with settling at bed times - too much to look at!
I also enjoy drawing digitally using an iPad and pencil. It’s still all my own handiwork, hand drawn from a photographs I’ve taken. Just a different medium. It’s enjoyable to play around with the different drawing/painting functions and matching the right techniques to create the desired effect.
I also use my artwork to create products. I have coasters available with any of my pictures as well as lampshades. Please get in touch if you are interested in a table lamp, lampshade or coaster. These are usually displayed at events I attend alongside some other items such as tea towels, mugs and cushion covers.
